The Italtel Softswitch, an intelligent sentinel for environmental monitoring in the Vesuvius area

Via the PETIT-OSA project (Advanced Telecommunications and Information Technology Platforms for Environmental Services), the Italtel multi-service softswitch platform, core of Next-Generation Networks and Services (NGN/NGS), offers fully automatic and intelligent management of the warning system for possible environmental disasters. The project, financed by the Ministry of University and Research, launched six years ago, involved close cooperation between Italtel and several university and scientific organizations in the Campania region.
